Austrian-Slovenian HPC Meeting 2021 – ASHPC21

The first Austrian-Slovenian HPC Meeting was held on 31 May – 2 June 2021, as a follow-up meeting of AHPC20. Taking place online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it brought together scientists and technicians with a background and interest in supercomputing. The meeting focused on recent developments and trends in high-performance computing (HPC) and its successful applications. The program included the latest research results, an exclusive preview of VSC-5, and a presentation of new HPC initiatives that would play an increasingly important role for European HPC users and providers in the years to come.

ASHPC21 provided an excellent opportunity to make use of inherent synergies and foster exchange of knowledge and ideas to promote fruitful collaborations thus enhancing sustainable HPC development. We are looking forward to continuing productive discussions at ASHPC22.

Financial support for ASHPC21 was provided by the association HPC Austria and by the EuroCC Slovenian National HPC Competence Centre.

ASHPC21 was organized by EuroCC Slovenia and EuroCC Austria – National Competence Centre for Supercomputing, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, Austria, in cooperation with the Slovenian consortium for high performance computing (SLING), the Institute of Information Science in Maribor (IZUM), Slovenia, the Research Area Scientific Computing in Innsbruck, Austria, and the Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC), Austria.
